Hier, lundi 6 avril 2026, à 18h00, Christine Ruiz-Picasso s'est éteinte à l'âge de 97 ans à son domicile en Provence.Veuve de Paul Ruiz-Picasso, fils de Pablo Picasso et d'Olga Khokhlova, elle a été, avec son fils Bernard, l'âme du Musée Picasso de Malaga. Inauguré en octobre 2003, le musée accueille aujourd'hui 800 000 visiteurs par an. Christine était présidente d'honneur du musée, conjointement avec le président du gouvernement régional d'Andalousie. En reconnaissance de sa générosité, elle a reçu à Madrid la Grand-Croix d'Alphonse X le Sage en 2003. L'auditorium du musée porte désormais son nom, ‘Auditorium Christine Ruiz-Picasso’ en hommage à son attachement à l'institution. Les détails des obsèques seront communiqués ultérieurement.
Yesterday, Monday 6 April 2026, at 6.00 pm, Christine Ruiz-Picasso passed away at the age of 97 at her home in Provence. The widow of Paul Ruiz-Picasso, son of Pablo Picasso and Olga Khokhlova, she was, together with her son Bernard, the driving force behind the Picasso Museum in Málaga. Opened in October 2003, the museum now welcomes 800,000 visitors a year. Christine was honorary president of the museum, alongside the president of the regional government of Andalusia. In recognition of her generosity, she was awarded the Grand Cross of Alfonso X the Wise in Madrid in 2003. The museum’s auditorium now bears her name, the ‘Christine Ruiz-Picasso Auditorium’, in tribute to her devotion to the institution. Details of the funeral will be announced at a later date
